Project Manager Electric Utilities (Construction Focus) Hybrid role with field travel to Albany & Syracuse, NY | Northeast Region This role is primarily home-based (about 90%), with travel required for project site visits. Additional travel includes quarterly trips to Syracuse and monthly visits to Albany. Position Overview We are seeking a skilled Project Manager with experience in electric utilities, specifically overseeing construction-related projects. The role involves managing electric distribution, transmission, and substation initiatives, along with DOT relocation projects. Candidates should have proven experience successfully leading projects from planning through commissioning. Key Responsibilities Lead electric utility projects such as distribution, transmission, substation builds, and DOT relocations. Oversee all aspects of project execution, including: Communication and leadership of project teams Scope, schedule, cost, and resource management Risk assessment and mitigation Compliance with safety, environmental, and company standards Permits, licenses, and land rights acquisition Engineering and design deliverables Vendor and contractor engagement, procurement, and administration Construction oversight, operational interface, and commissioning Project closeout and acceptance activities Provide regular project status updates to stakeholders. Promote collaboration, efficiency, and continuous improvement across project teams and supporting departments. Serve as a resource and mentor for peers, sharing best practices in project management. Required Knowledge & Experience 5+ years of project management or equivalent relevant experience. Bachelors degree (engineering preferred) or significant related experience in project management, engineering, and construction within the utility industry. Strong track record of delivering complex utility projects. Demonstrated leadership, influencing, and negotiation skills. Knowledge of utility operations, electrical/civil engineering, permitting, and relevant regulatory standards. Skilled in construction management, stakeholder relations, and compliance with environmental and safety standards. Ability to manage multiple projects within time and budget constraints. Valid drivers license and safe driving history required.
