The Data Science team is responsible for providing business intelligence services to the whole project and for deriving data-driven insights to support World's key decisions. Because of our unique growth model of using a global network of Orb Operators to verify individuals' unique humanness, we require a high-performing Data Science team that is able to manage and analyze large amounts of data generated by our products and operations. World's privacy-maximizing approach imposes unique restrictions on how data is collected, stored, and used, making data science innovations critical to derive useful insights. About the Opportunity:
As the first Data Analyst on the Data Science team, you will be instrumental in generating insights that inform decisions across all departments and domains-ranging from product performance and operational monitoring to logistics and customer support optimization. This role has a strong focus on Business Intelligence, as both the Data Science team and its stakeholders rely heavily on high-quality reporting and data visualizations to drive key decisions in a fast-paced environment. In addition to working closely with the Data Science team, you will collaborate with teams across the broader Data Science & Economics group, including Economic Operations, Fraud & Risk Analytics and Data Engineering. You will report to the Director of Data Science. Your work will directly shape the quality and speed of data-driven decision-making at World.

In this role, you will:
- Contribute to the business intelligence efforts of the Data Science team
- Create data models, charts, dashboards, alerts and reports for all departments across the company
- Collaborate closely with a high-performing team of data scientists, statisticians, economists and data engineers
- Work with an exciting, massive dataset, including Product data (e.g., user in-app behavior, notifications, experiments), blockchain transactions, operations data, and customer support data.
- Work in a data-driven and scientific environment where every key decision is supported by thorough data analysis
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field like economics, computer science, statistics, or similar
- 4+ years of hands-on work experience as a data analyst
- Extensive experience in Business Intelligence, in particular in data visualization
- Passionate about high-quality data visualizations that are easily accessible to
- Extensive experience with SQL; knowledge of DBT is a plus.
- Programming experience in at least one high-level programming language (e.g., Python)
- Experience with BI tools like Metabase, Tableau, Looker, or PowerBI
- Good understanding of business economics and financial concepts; prior experience working with economic or financial data a plus
- High curiosity, strong autonomy, and a deep sense of ownership
- Practically oriented and "getting-the-job-done" mindset
- Thriving in a fast-paced and continuously evolving environment; experience in start-ups is a plus
