Compensation: $90,000 - $120,000 (based on experience)

A leading, self-performing developer and builder specializing in affordable and workforce housing throughout New York City. Known for delivering complex, ground-up multifamily projects, the firm manages the entire process in-house-from development and design coordination to construction execution.

Position Overview

The Assistant Project Manager will work closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to support the delivery of ground-up residential developments. This role offers exposure to the full construction lifecycle, from preconstruction through closeout, with clear opportunities for advancement to Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in day-to-day oversight of active job sites in coordination with field staff and subcontractors
  • Support design reviews, drawing coordination, and compliance with NYC codes and regulations
  • Contribute to preconstruction efforts including budgeting, procurement, and contract execution
  • Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, and change orders
  • Coordinate DOB filings, permitting, utility connections, and sign-offs
  • Monitor project schedules and identify potential delays or critical path issues
  • Participate in project meetings, progress reporting, and requisition packages
  • Assist with punch lists, TCO process, and project closeout

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience in NYC-based ground-up residential construction (affordable, mixed-income, or market-rate)
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
  • Knowledge of NYC construction codes, permitting processes, and inspections
  • Proficiency with construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, etc.)
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
