Description: • The A/R Claims Analyst is responsible for analyzing outstanding accounts receivable balances, following up on claims, and ensuring proper documentation and resolution of outstanding claims. • The role involves collaborating with internal and external teams, preparing financial adjustments, and maintaining compliance with organizational policies. • This position requires a commitment to resolving reimbursement issues effectively and efficiently while adhering to established standards and timelines.
Responsibilities: • Analyze account aging and follow up on outstanding accounts. • Provide coding and detailed comments for all balances. • Conduct research for critical accounts and update records prior to monthly review calls. • Rebill collectible claims and document payment details. • Address inquiries regarding revenue and aging issues. • Process revenue adjustments and approvals for month-end close activities. • Upload or enter revenue data for operations and grants. • Balance and report revenue adjustments, ensuring accuracy. • Collaborate with billing, cash application, and operational teams. • Prepare cash transfer and check requests for the cash team. • Participate in monthly calls with business managers to discuss reimbursement challenges. • Assist in forecasting by documenting allowances and revenue adjustments. • Follow up on insurance claim denials and exceptions within policy timelines. • Interpret insurance explanation of benefits and address inquiries from insurance companies, patients, and providers. • Attend meetings and educational sessions as requested. • Perform other assigned duties and meet key performance metrics (e.g., DSO, accounts worked, AR > 90 days).
Required Skills: • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree or higher preferred). • Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare billing or insurance claims. • Ability to read and understand insurance remittance advice and denial codes. • Proficient in using billing portals and submitting claim appeals. • Strong communication skills (email and phone). • Skilled in working with confidential information and adhering to conditions of payment. • Proficiency in spreadsheets and data analysis tools.
Desired Skills: • Experience with state billing portals and federally funded healthcare programs preferred.
Compensation: Pay Range: $19-$24/Hr
