General Summary: The Mobile Unit Dentist will provide high quality dental care to children and adults in our service area. This position primarily operates on our Mobile Dental Unit, delivering preventive and restorative dental services to children in local schools and group homes. When schools are not in session, the dentist will provide care to adult and pediatric patients at various community locations or work within one of our clinic sites.
Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive dental care, including exams, cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants, extractions, endodontic, fixed/removable treatment and restorative procedures.
Educate patients, school staff, and caregivers on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care.
Diagnose and develop treatment plans for pediatric and adult patients, referring to specialists as needed.
Maintain accurate and thorough patient records in accordance with FQHC and regulatory guidelines.
Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols within the mobile unit.
Collaborate with school nurses, community health workers, and other healthcare providers to coordinate care.
During school breaks and summer months, provide care to adults at various community locations or in one of our clinic sites.
See adult patients on the mobile unit during school breaks or at designated community locations.
Work in one of our clinic sites as needed to provide additional patient care.
Participate in outreach events to promote oral health awareness in underserved communities.
Supervise and provide guidance to dental assistants and students during rotations on the mobile unit
Ensure compliance with infection control, OSHA, and HIPAA regulations within the mobile unit.
Assist in quality improvement initiatives to enhance dental services and patient outcomes.
Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of dentistry and holds current license as a dentist in the State of Missouri, as well as current DEA, and BNDD
