Local CDL Garbage Route Driver

Monday-Friday, with occasional Saturday shifts as needed, totaling 45-50 hours per week. One Saturday a month for a 2-hour shift (7am-9am) 3:30AM Start time for Front Load Routes 6:30AM Start time for Residential and Roll Off Routes This position includes training on various truck types (Roll Off, Commercial Front Load, and Residential Automatic Side Load). As a driver, you will be responsible for physically collecting solid waste and ensuring excellent customer service at all times. Duties and Responsibilities: Safely operate a garbage truck on designated routes to service Residential and Commercial Customers. Cross-train on different truck styles, Front Load, Residential Side Load, and Forklift operation. Read Route Tablets and service each customer as outlined by the dispatcher. Lift, push, and pull 500+ containers using hydraulic hand controls. Perform routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles, including checking fluids and safety equipment. Perform physically demanding tasks, including loading and unloading, sometimes without assistance. Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash at designated locations. Engage courteously with customers and perform other job-related duties as needed. Working Conditions and Physical Effort: Extensive physical activity; requires heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects over 50 pounds. Exposure to physical risks from moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather, including wet and/or humid conditions. Exposure to fumes and vibrations; noise levels are generally moderate. Minimum Job Requirements: Valid CDL with Air Brakes endorsement. Clean driving record. Pass a Criminal Background Check, Drug Panel Screening, and Motor Vehicle Report. Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English. Basic knowledge of truck components for pre- and post-trip inspections.
