Senior Infrastructure Engineer - VP Level
Location: New York - Hybrid role - 3 days per week on site

My client, a highly reputable New York based Financial Services organisation, is looking to hire an accomplished Senior Windows Infrastructure Engineer.
This is a fantastic opportunity to take full ownership of all Infrastructure Engineering, Azure Cloud and Infrastructure Security projects firm-wide.
This is an organisation with approximately 300 total staff, therefore your ability to wear multiple hats and deliver optimal results in an extremely dynamic culture is paramount!
Role Responsibilities :
The organisation currently relies on a third-party outsourced provider (MSP) for the majority of its Networking and Infrastructure. The firm is looking to bring this back in house.
Your first task will be to work with senior stakeholders to conduct a full audit of the current Infrastructure set-up, covering full infrastructure and infrastructure security. Once this audit is completed, you will then play an instrumental role in bringing everything in-house and moving away from the MSP. This will involve fully utilising your hands-on Windows Engineering skills.
Selected tasks will include: managing the MSP relationship, serving as the Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Azure AD and enterprise email security) subject matter expert, architecting, implementing and optimising mail flow, routing and security policies, implementing SPF, DKIM, DMARC and secure email gateways, designing Azure gateways, providing enhanced troubleshooting for email security, working with security teams to integrate Microsoft 365 with SIEM and DLP and establishing best practice and documentation across the Infrastructure space.
Desired Skills: • Ambitious, entrepreneurial, go-getting mindset - proven ability to work in both a hands-on technical capacity and alongside senior stakeholders making complex decisions • Confident of leading migrations and projects in a very fast-paced, dynamic, constantly evolving environment, preferably in a small to medium sized firm • Proven background gained in a senior Windows Infrastructure Engineering position- hands-on experience in managing infrastructure engineering and security fully in-house • Previous experience of working with an MSP, ideally with a view of exiting them from a business, very highly regarded • Exceptional stakeholder management and leadership/mentoring skills • Multiple years of hands-on experience in Windows, Microsoft 365 and messaging infrastructure • SME level skills in Exchange Online, mail routing and email security protocols • Detailed hands-on experience in Azure AD, Conditional Access and Powershell automation and administration • Exposure to Compliance Frameworks (FINRA, SEC, ISO27001, NIST) • Experience in the Financial Services industry sector is highly regarded, or if not, working in a heavily regulated industry sector is a must
