We are seeking a skilled Electro-Mechanical Controls Specialist to enhance our team's capabilities and support our valued customers. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in driving technical solutions and optimizing advanced equipment. Key Responsibilities: Utilize electrical design and programming skills according to approved P&IDs in collaboration with your team. Leverage your knowledge of automation technologies, including sensors, controllers, actuators, and industrial networks. Support the design, programming, maintenance, and troubleshooting of high-speed centrifuges and automated systems at the GEA facility in Janesville or on-site at customer locations. Apply your understanding of fluid power, electrical and mechanical technologies, and PLCs to solve intricate technical problems. Participate in project work that develops your problem-solving and troubleshooting expertise in automated systems. Engage with various computer-based control systems in process and manufacturing settings. Learn to program, assemble, install, troubleshoot, repair, and enhance machine instrumentation and controls. Conduct measurements for electrical systems and apply mathematical skills to solve maintenance-related power equations. Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and maintain technical documentation for all equipment. Provide exceptional electrical and controls support to both customers and GEA personnel, addressing any required troubleshooting and modifications. Collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment, contributing to collective success. Take initiative in training and supporting both in-house and customer technical teams in effective equipment repair and installation. Your Qualifications: Associate degree or equivalent in Electro-Mechanical Technology. A minimum of 2 years of relevant hands-on experience in the field. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with AC/DC systems and 3-phase power. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and schematics confidently. Experience with control systems, process automation, and industrial networking. Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs. Willingness to travel up to 40% across the U.S. and Canada. We believe in fostering careers and providing avenues for growth and innovation at GEA.
