Guest Services Ambassador is responsible for creating a welcoming, informative and positive experience for all zoo guests. This front-line role supports multiple teams of the Guest Services Department including Admissions & Membership, Attractions & Experience and Park Operations based on training and operational needs. The role may be primarily assigned to one area but will be cross-trained and scheduled flexibly depending on skills and availability.
Your Essential Responsibilities

Provide exceptional customer service ensuring a positive guest experience, helping the zoo meet its mission of 'Connecting, Caring, and Advocating for Wildlife, People, and Wild Places. Operate point of sale systems to accurately sell zoo admissions, memberships, attractions and experiences while promoting zoo events and additional revenue opportunities. Support team functions by following operation procedures for Admissions & Membership, Attractions & Experience and Park Operations. The role may be primarily assigned to one area but will be cross-trained and scheduled flexibly depending on skills, availability and seasons. Assist in onboarding, peer shadowing and supporting part-time team members as needed. Communicate clearly and properly with team using radios and other technology systems. Effectively communicate and demonstrate interpersonal skills with all levels of employees and guests in a clear and professional manner. Demonstrate and adhere to TZMI's workplace values. Know and follow zoo policies and procedures, including emergency protocols. Attend and participate in staff meetings and assigned training sessions. Other duties may be assigned to you. Must be able to work weekends, evenings, and holidays Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; to write simple correspondence; to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other TZMI employees Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and perform these operations using units of American money Ability to log in and complete daily digital tasks using smart phone or tablet What You can Expect
