Description

The Lead Guest Services Associate is an enthusiastic, outgoing, welcoming, and highly motivated team member. This Associate role is responsible for ensuring that visitors of the Perot Museum of Nature and Science receive attention and are assisted as needed from the moment they enter our doors and throughout their visit. The Lead Guest Services Associate position is a cross-functional role overseeing various areas of Guest Services to enhance the guest experience, including box office, theater, hosts, etc.

This is a full-time, entry-level position within our Guest Services team. A public-facing role works closely with the Guest Services hosts, Guest Services Managers, and other necessary staff to operate the museum in a safe, efficient, and friendly manner. This role will report directly to the Director of Operations and Events.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Box Office Enthusiastically interact with guests and provide pertinent information about the museum to help the guest make an informed decision about what offerings to purchase. Assist guests with self-serve ticket kiosks as necessary. Handle sales transactions quickly, efficiently, and accurately. Be informed on voucher and discount procedures that may be presented at the Box Office. Adhere to official cash handling procedures set in place by the museum. Encourage guests to become members by maintaining a working knowledge of membership benefits and accurately enter data into the Membership Patron record. Other duties as assigned. General Operations

Assist with the opening & closing duties of the museum for daily operations. Actively welcome & greet visitors to the museum and galleries. Assist guests with timed-ticket entry at touchless ticket scanners, and address issues as needed. Provide general information and answer questions about the exhibits and the museum. Assist with procedures such as: lost and found items, wheelchair requests, injuries, lost child, or other issues. Maintain continuous lookout for safety hazards. Assist with evacuations and procedures if required in case of an emergency. Keep current with museum operational standards and policies. Assist with membership sales and membership operational needs. Maintain a working knowledge of our membership program in order to assist guests. Create guest services staffing schedules including membership, visitor phone lines, school drop off, theater, museum floor staff and other areas as assigned. Coordinate school drop off and ticket pick up. Work with other Lead Guest Services Associates and Guest Services Manager as daily team leads for the museum by assisting guests, tracking any incidents, working with IT, security, volunteers and exhibits as needed. Maintain working knowledge of theater equipment and best-practice procedures Ensure theater guests are aware of the safety exits and pertinent information about their showing by learning a safety speech given before each film Maintain proper use of theater equipment to keep items safe and functional Other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Qualifications/Skills/Experience

Required:

At least one year of prior retail or customer service experience. Previous experience in a role that required an outgoing, problem-solver with strong customer service skills. A working knowledge of computers and Microsoft software. Have the availability and willingness to work a varied of shift scheduled to include: weekdays, weeknights and holidays. Must be at least 18 years old. Preferred:

High School diploma At least one year of experience in a high-volume guest destination venue (museum, theater, theme park, stadium). Proficiency in another language in addition to English.

Essential Physical Requirement

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and stand for up to five hours at a time. Must occasionally lift up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
