What We Offer

The City and County of Denver offers competitive pay commensurate with education and experience. New hires are typically brought into the organization between $95,000 - $125,000/year. If you receive an offer for this position, your annual pay will determine whether you are required to take additional furlough days. Details will be discussed during the offer process for selected candidate(s).

Location

The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.

In this position you can expect to work on site at least two days per week at the Denver International Airport (Concourse A).

Denver International Airport is looking for an Associate IT Data Architect to join our Business Technologies team. This position will support the Business Intelligence team with both on-premises and cloud data warehouse management and implementation.

Specifically, as the Associate IT Data Architect, you will be responsible for:

Gathering and analyzing requirements from customers on their data needs. Developing enhancements to existing on-prem SQL solutions and PowerBI dashboards, Learning Microsoft Fabric to implement cloud data solutions where appropriate. Supporting data governance processes and data sensitivity labeling through Microsoft Purview. Identifying opportunities to improve, stabilize, or expedite technical or team processes. Build and maintain relationships with vendors and both internal and external stakeholders. Performing other duties as assigned. What You'll Bring

Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:

Knowledge of information technology and data processing sufficient to be able to complete ETL processes for data solutions Ability to clearly communicate with the team, scrum master, and manager on status, issues, and roadblocks Ability to define requirements and user stories and develop associated documentation Skill in clearly communicating complex technical information to non-technical audiences Provide support and training to stakeholders in developing PowerBI dashboards Engage and interact with stakeholders to understand the technical needs of a complex organization Knowledge of integration design and support Knowledge and/or experience with working in an Agile environment Additionally, our ideal candidate will have systems experience with one or more of the following:

Experience with SQL services including SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS, including creating and scheduling SQL agent jobs Experience with writing ETL and DDL using T-SQL Experience with Microsoft PowerBI reports and dashboards Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Factory a plus Familiarity with Microsoft Azure DevOps a plus Familiarity with writing ETL and DDL using PySpark or Spark SQL a plus Required Minimum Qualifications

Education requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Business Administration, Mathematics, or a related field. Experience Requirement: Two (2) years of professional information technology developing and maintaining business or enterprise data systems, to include one year of experience participating in the development of data architecture standards. Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.

Additional Information

FBI Background Check: FBI criminal background check is required for all positions at Denver International Airport (DEN). Employees are also required to report any felony convictions and/or moving violations to maintain this clearance and be eligible for continued employment. By position, a pre-employment physical/drug test may be required.

Snow/Emergency Duties:Denver International Airport is a 24/7/365 team operation. If weather conditions warrant or an emergency crisis occurs, all DEN employees can be required to work extended hours and/or shifts.
