Core Cosmos DB Experience Deep understanding of Cosmos DB APIs Proficiency in Cosmos DB SQL Syntax and query optimization Knowledge of partitioning, indexing and consistency levels Hands-on experience with change feed and stored procedures, triggers and user defined functions Data Modeling and Design Deep understanding of NoSQL data modeling, partitioning, indexing, and consistency models. Designing for scalability and latency optimization Cloud Architecture & Integration Proficiency in Azure services like Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Functions, Azure Monitor, and Microsoft Entra ID. Integration with Kafka for streaming data pipelines (e.g., using Kafka Connect or custom consumers) Experience with data replication, API integration, and cloud-native solutions Performance & Reliability Engineering Design for high availability, low latency, and fault tolerance. Strategic Responsibilities
1.Solution Architecture
Design scalable, distributed database architectures using Azure Cosmos DB. Choose appropriate APIs (Core SQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, Gremlin) based on workload needs. Define data partitioning strategies and indexing policies. 2.Technology Evaluation & Planning
Evaluate Cosmos DB against other Azure data services. Plan for global distribution, multi-region writes, and consistency models. Align database design with business continuity and disaster recovery goals. Technical Responsibilities
1.Implementation & Configuration
Set up Cosmos DB accounts, containers, and throughput (Request Units). Configure failover regions, backup policies, and point-in-time restore. Integrate with Azure services like Azure Functions, AKS, and Event Hubs. 2.Performance Optimization
Monitor RU consumption and optimize queries and indexing. Implement caching strategies and retry logic for rate-limited operations. Use Azure Monitor and Application Insights for observability. 3.Security & Compliance
Enforce RBAC and least-privilege access. Configure private endpoints, firewalls, and encryption. Ensure compliance with data governance policies. Cross-Functional Collaboration 1Team Leadership Guide developers, DBAs, and data engineers on Cosmos DB best practices. Conduct architecture reviews and mentor junior team members. Coordinate schema changes and CI/CD integration. Stakeholder Engagement
Communicate design decisions to business and technical stakeholders. Translate business requirements into technical solutions. Provide documentation and training for support teams. Operational Excellence
1.Monitoring & ; Maintenance
Set up dashboards and alerts for RU usage, latency, and errors. Perform regular audits and health checks. Plan for capacity scaling and cost optimization. 2.Incident Management
