Summary of Job Duties
Responsible for maintenance, safety, and support of the laboratories of the Engineering Department. Duties include maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies, administering lab safety rules, maintaining documentation of safety training, supporting faculty in organizing laboratory stations, and assisting students in lab activities and design projects. Other duties may include engagement with advisory councils; safety assessment/evaluation; student advisement, recruitment, and retention activities; and participation in college and university committees. The position reports to the department head of Engineering. Qualifications
Required Education and/or Work Experience:
Bachelors degree in engineering or a closely related field and three years of industry experience. Candidates with an associates degree and at least five years of industry experience will be considered. Preferred Education and/or Work Experience:
Masters degree; higher education experience. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain College of Business and Industry program laboratory equipment and supplies Assist in future laboratory planning and lab upgrades Administer lab safety rules and provide safety training Maintain safety training documentation Support advanced manufacturing engineering students in lab activities and design projects Provide technical support for faculty conducting research Professional development Service to college and university, including advising and committees Engagement with advisory councils Other Job Duties and Responsibilities: Recruitment and retention of students, including advising students Attendance and participation in all college and university staff meetings, Student Research Symposium, commencement ceremonies, and other meetings/events as required Other duties as assigned Responsible for maintaining a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to foster teamwork and by providing leadership to subordinates. Requires consistent on-time attendance. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of engineering principles and practices as well as OSHA standards Capability to plan and manage projects Understanding of research and analysis Ability to effectively work with a diverse body of students, staff, and faculty Commitment to excellence, including the utilization of technology Maintenance of professional development Willingness to engage with external stakeholders Well-developed communication and teamwork skills Strong organization and prioritization skills Additional Information

Duties involve data entry, maintenance of laboratory equipment, and physical activities such as walking, standing, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
