As a vital part of the country's food supply chain, our delivery vehicle operators ensure that customer products arrive on time and in excellent condition. You will be the face of our company, building lasting relationships with our customers. This role involves driving a tractor trailer or straight truck on various routes to deliver and unload food-related products safely and efficiently, all in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Effective communication and interaction with customers, vendors, and co-workers are crucial to address any questions promptly and accurately. You will work collaboratively within your team and undertake any necessary duty to support the companys objectives. Key Responsibilities: Conduct pre/post trip safety checks, inspecting the tractor/truck and trailer per DOT regulations. Report any safety issues or repairs needed. Adhere to all DOT regulations and company driving guidelines; report any hazards immediately. Perform item count checks and verify customer invoices for loaded products. Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly. Move the tractor to the loading dock and attach preloaded trailers as necessary. Drive to deliver customer orders based on a predetermined route. Unload products and transport them to designated customer storage areas. Conduct damage control checks on items and communicate any issues to your supervisor. Verify delivery with the customer and obtain the necessary signatures. Collect payments when required. Manage customer returns and secure trailer doors appropriately. Ensure all equipment remains secured and locked as needed. Unload damaged goods and complete necessary paperwork for returns. Perform general housekeeping duties for the tractor and loading dock area. At the end of your shift, secure all equipment and finalize paperwork. Carry out other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: 6+ months of commercial driving experience preferred. High school diploma/GED or equivalent. Valid CDL B with airbrakes endorsement. Must meet all State licensing and certification requirements (where applicable). Must be at least 21 years of age. Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years. Pass a post-offer drug test and criminal background check. Successfully complete a road test. Hold a valid DOT Health Card or secure a new one. Able to lift and transport product cases/freight weighing between 10-35 pounds regularly and up to 60-90 pounds at times, using appropriate equipment.
