Job Description: Heavy Equipment Operator
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining a variety of heavy machinery to assist in the construction, excavation, and transportation of materials on job sites. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.
Duties:
Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, backhoes, scrapers, and other equipment as required. Clear, level, and prepare job sites for construction or development projects. Excavate, load, move, and distribute earth, gravel, rock, or other materials safely and efficiently. Adhere to all company and industry safety protocols, conducting pre-operation checks and reporting any equipment malfunctions or hazards. Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on machinery to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Collaborate with supervisors, site managers, and other team members to ensure tasks are completed according to plans and timelines. Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, hours, and maintenance activities. Qualifications:
High school diploma and pass a pre-employment drug screen. Experience with GPS-based machine control systems. Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator in construction. Proficiency in operating multiple types of heavy equipment. Knowledge of construction site safety procedures and regulations. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and grade stakes. Physical stamina and strength to operate equipment for extended periods and perform labor-intensive tasks. Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. A valid driver's license (CDL may be required for certain roles). Physical Requirements:
Work in various weather conditions. Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, or operating machinery. Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform repetitive tasks. Work Environment
