Vice Provost For Student Success & Institutional Effectiveness

The Vice Provost for Student Success & Institutional Effectiveness will oversee comprehensive and systematic assessment processes, including establishing and measuring student learning outcomes for program evaluation and accreditation, across all academic units and coordinates monitoring and reporting of institutional effectiveness. The Vice Provost for Student Success & Institutional Effectiveness will also coordinate changes to academic policy and Undergraduate and Graduate Catalogs, general education modifications, program articulation, and the development and modification of degree programs. This position will work closely with the Faculty Senate, Faculty Council, and their committees on these and related curricular and academic policy issues. The Vice Provost for Student Success & Institutional Effectiveness will serve as the University's liaison with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission (SACSCOC) and maintains extensive knowledge of University of Louisiana System and University of New Orleans policies and procedures that are applicable to accreditation processes and program review. This position will supervise the Director of University College, The Registrar, and serve as lead of the Graduate School. The University College is responsible for the strategic direction, operational management, and continuous improvement of a comprehensive suite of academic support services aimed at enhancing student success across the university. The Director will foster an atmosphere of trust, collaboration, and shared commitment to support the success and achievement of students. The Registrar's Office functions including but not limited to course inventory, class registration, grading, academic action, classroom scheduling, final exam scheduling, University catalog, curriculum management, degree audit, evaluation and posting of transfer credit, articulation agreements, external enrollment reporting, development of the academic calendar and production of official transcripts, diplomas and commencement ceremonies. The Registrar is responsible for all activities related to student records. As lead of the Graduate School, the Vice Provost will oversee graduate student recruiting, admissions, enrollment, scholarships, assistantship processing, student services, thesis and dissertation processing, transfer credit, graduation checks, and other duties associated with supporting and retaining graduate students. Finally, the Vice Provost for Student Success & Institutional Effectiveness will oversee and ensures the quality and compliance of academic programs and monitoring of the Institution's Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) with respect to SACSCOC and other accrediting or governing bodies. Daily oversight and coordination of the QEP will be performed by a faculty or staff member who, in that capacity, reports to the Vice Provost. Role and Responsibilities: Develop and manage student success projects, research, or analysis as designated by the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs. Collaborates with Institutional Research for institutional effectiveness and data related to academic program development and modifications. Working with Chairs & Associate Deans to develop programmatic student success strategies for the campus. Leading the effort to develop a sustainable and supported regular review of programs consistent with system and accreditation requirements. Provide leadership, guidance, and oversight to the Director in the development and execution of strategic initiatives that support student success and to the Graduate School in the execution of their duties. Provide leadership, guidance, and oversight to the Registrar ensuring the university complies with all requirements for records and reporting. Ensure the effective operational management and continuous improvement of academic support services under the Director's purview. Support the Director in assessing program effectiveness, implementing best practices, and driving institutional success metrics related to student retention and graduation rates. Other duties as assigned by the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. Required Qualifications: Terminal degree with experience. A minimum of three years of professional experience in a higher education setting in an area such as accreditation or administration. Experience with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges or other accrediting bodies such as NCATE, ABET, AACSB. Highly effective leadership, organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision. Demonstrated ability to lead groups working in a collaborative, strategy-driven environment. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Desired Qualifications: Substantial knowledge of best practices in student success, accreditation, institutional assessment, evaluation, and strategic planning. Experience in collecting, analyzing, reporting and interpreting qualitative and quantitative results. Experience presenting and publishing a local, regional, or national levels. Faculty experience in higher education or related field.
