BFI bridges academic research with policy makers to translate rigorous research into accessible formats and proactively share findings with decision-makers in business, government, and nonprofit institutions. Job Summary This position advances the mission of the Macro Finance Research Program (MFR) by leading planning and execution of events, special projects, and program activities, while overseeing core operational functions such as expense monitoring and staff support. The role develops and implements programs across events programming, marketing, and logistics, reporting to both the Executive Director and Faculty Director, and providing high-level support and logistical coordination for the Faculty Director, Professor Lars Peter Hansen. Responsibilities

Collaborate with academic departments, administrative offices, and peer institutions to develop event strategies that increase visibility of MFR programming and align with institutional priorities. Assist the Executive Director in task delegation and provide day-to-day guidance to the Events and Operations Associate in areas such as supply management, operational record keeping, and general administrative support. Supervise student interns and oversee onsite logistics. Manage the MFR Programs events budget, identify cost-saving strategies, and optimize vendor relationships to enhance quality and efficiency. Oversee daily operational needs in coordination with the Executive Director and Events and Operations Associate, including expenditure tracking, office protocol, and annual reporting; resolve moderately complex operational issues with sound judgment. Coordinate logistics for the Faculty Directors speaking engagements, including travel arrangements, and maintain a shared database of events, correspondence, and media for both the Faculty and Executive Directors. Engage in cross-unit initiatives that elevate the MFR programs external presence, including event partnerships with other research centers and global finance organizations. Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for events to ensure operational consistency and compliance with University policies and risk mitigation standards. Oversee end-to-end planning and execution of conferences, workshops, seminars, and business meetings, with minimal supervision. Design and conduct post-event evaluations and implement improvements based on feedback. Manage hotel arrangements, event-related vendor contracts, travel bookings, catering agreements, and related logistics. Coordinate with travel agencies, event managers, hotel staff, faculty organizers, and guest speakers; manage presentations, audiovisual needs, travel, reimbursements, and expense tracking. Assist in coordinating event communications, formal announcements, and materials with the events team, including printed collateral, guest lists, hotel details, presentations, and travel information. Manage team email inboxes and triage inquiries related to MFR events and conferences. Monitor MFR Program social media accounts (X, Flickr) and program email inquiries to promote events and engage users. Seek professional development opportunities to enhance performance, including webinars, cross-campus relationships, and engagement with peer institutions. Develop and execute day-to-day event logistics and other complex assignments with minimal guidance. Guide vendor selection and contract negotiation; track expenses and prepare cost reports; solve complex problems as they arise. Perform other related work as needed. Minimum Qualifications
