We are currently seeking an experienced Industrial Construction Project Manager to lead the planning and execution of a major industrial facility project in Chicago, IL.
Position Overview
As the Industrial Construction Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing all phases of project delivery — from preconstruction and procurement to scheduling, execution, and closeout. You will play a key leadership role in ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to all applicable quality standards. This position requires hands-on experience in industrial construction environments, strong coordination skills, and the ability to lead cross functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day to day project operations including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and subcontractor management
- Manage industrial construction projects from design coordination through final turnover
- Work closely with Superintendents and field teams to ensure safe and efficient execution
- Lead preconstruction activities including scope reviews, constructability input, and bid package development
- Serve as the primary point of contact with clients, consultants, and trade partners
- Prepare and maintain detailed project schedules and cost reports
- Review construction documents and identify risks, conflicts, or cost impacts
- Process submittals, RFIs, change orders, and ensure all project documentation is accurate and current
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, safety, and quality compliance
Qualifications
- 5 plus years of project management experience in industrial construction
- Proven experience managing large scale builds such as manufacturing plants, distribution centers, or processing facilities
- Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, industrial systems, and heavy equipment installations
- Experience managing project budgets, subcontractors, and schedules
- Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, and project scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem solving skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
