Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time, in-person social work position is available within a school setting in Flint, MI. This contract role involves providing comprehensive social work services aimed at supporting students, families, and school staff to address social, emotional, and behavioral needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments of students social, emotional, and academic environments to identify needs and provide targeted interventions.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop individualized support plans.
  • Facilitate counseling sessions and group activities addressing social skills, coping strategies, and conflict resolution.
  • Connect students and families to community resources and services to support overall well-being.
  • Maintain thorough and confidential records of cases, providing regular progress updates.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to school-wide initiatives promoting a positive educational environment.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Social Work (Bachelors or Masters) with appropriate licensure or certification.
  • Experience working within school settings preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively between students, families, and school personnel.
  • Knowledge of community resources and social services.
  • Ability to manage case documentation and maintain confidentiality according to professional standards.
