The Network Engineer / Specialist will assist the Technology division in supporting the OUC's network. Responsibilities include design and planning, deployment, operations, and technical support for IP-based network communication systems supporting data, voice, and video traffic. The role involves conducting detailed system studies of existing functions, developing network communication system plans, and creating technical documentation to define logical, efficient networks. 16+ years troubleshooting network performance issues 16+ years analyzing network traffic and capacity planning 16+ years planning and configuring enterprise networks 16+ years monitoring and resolving hardware, software, and network problems Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field, or equivalent experience 10+ years knowledge of WAN / LAN infrastructure components for developing, implementing, and maintaining reliable, scalable enterprise networks 10+ years knowledge of vendor products and technologies for designing, deploying, and operating related hardware and software 10+ years understanding of equipment and software capabilities and limitations for cost-effective solutions 10+ years ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external teams in both structured and unstructured environments Experience in large organizations with enterprise technology standards and change management At least 5 years recent experience in implementing and administering VMware environments 10+ years hands-on experience with Cisco routers and Dell servers for troubleshooting and administration 10+ years experience with SAN, NAS, SAS, and DASD configuration and provisioning 10+ years working knowledge of TCP/IP networking (subnetting, trunking, VLANs, etc.) 10+ years experience with standard networking hardware Possess CCNA, CCNP, or CCNE certification 10+ years experience designing, configuring, and implementing Virtual Machine architectures supporting Virtual Desktops and SQL environments
