Examine patients’ medical records Prepare patients for treatment (e.g., oral sedation or anesthesia) Check teeth, gingiva, and other oral structures, along with X-rays and tests, to diagnose dental issues Perform teeth cleaning, including scaling and root planing Identify and restore tooth decay Design and fit dental prosthetics such as bridges, crowns, and dentures Apply teeth whitening treatments Perform tooth extractions and root canal procedures Prescribe medications as needed Educate patients on oral hygiene practices Promote preventive dental care Perform other duties necessary for effective dental care and departmental operation Educate dental staff to improve techniques and practices Complete any additional tasks assigned by supervisors that relate to UNHS operations Requirements Critical Competencies & Required Documents Graduation from an accredited US dental school.

Documents: Diploma, Utah State Dentist license, DEA registration

Completion of a GPR or AEGD residency is preferred.

CPR/BLS Certification.

Ability to learn and teach dental conditions.
