About the Role

The Company is seeking its inaugural General Counsel to join the senior leadership team. This pivotal role involves serving as a trusted advisor on a wide range of legal, regulatory, and governance matters, with a focus on complex, cross-border issues. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding the company through trade compliance, export controls, environmental regulation, and labor and employment law, among other areas. As General Counsel, you will also be expected to structure and negotiate high-stakes transactions, lead a legal team, and establish compliance and risk management programs. The role demands a strategic partner who can anticipate and mitigate risk, provide clear and principled advice, and communicate with clarity and confidence.

Applicants for the General Counsel position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' legal experience, with a significant portion in-house, and a JD from a leading law school. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in making difficult decisions, exceptional judgment, and the ability to balance business, legal, and reputational considerations. Strong executive presence, communication skills, and the ability to influence at the Board and executive level are essential. The role requires a pragmatic, commercially minded, and solutions-oriented individual who is courageous, decisive, and resilient under pressure. The General Counsel will be expected to lead a high-performing legal team and have strong interpersonal and diplomatic skills to bring stakeholders along without compromising on principles.
