Medical Assistant Front and Back Office

This dual-role position combines front desk administrative responsibilities with clinical support duties to ensure smooth patient experiences and efficient clinic operations. Responsibilities include greeting and assisting patients with professionalism and confidentiality, managing patient check-in and verifying insurance eligibility, scheduling and confirming appointments, answering phones, managing paperwork, and assisting with check-out procedures. The role also involves maintaining accuracy in electronic medical record (EMR) usage, passing audits and SME testing, reconciling daily reports, and coordinating patient transportation. Additionally, the role includes performing medical intake and evaluations, practicing safe phlebotomy, documenting patient care thoroughly, completing prior authorizations, maintaining clinical logs, supporting referrals, collaborating with internal and external teams, upholding HIPAA standards, contributing to continuous quality improvement, maintaining office supplies, and fostering respectful, compassionate interactions. Essential Skills include being a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or having the willingness to obtain within six months of start, holding an active CPR certification or willingness to obtain within six months, having six or more months of experience with phlebotomy, prior experience as a Front Office Medical Assistant, being bilingual in English and Spanish, knowledge of medical terminology, and strong communication and interpersonal/customer service skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications include previous experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) preferred, initiative, team mindset/flexibility, and being organized and detail-oriented. Work Environment

This position is 100% onsite in a health clinic located in Miami Gardens, FL. The standard shift is Monday to Thursday from 8 am to 5:30 pm and Fridays from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. Must be open to working one late night per month (11 am to 8 pm) or one Saturday shift every other month (8:30 am to 12:30 pm). If working on Saturday, the preceding Friday is given off. The late night/Saturday schedule is on a rotation, and all staff participate. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, Florida. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
