As a Medical Assistant on this team, you will collaborate with fellow staff to create a welcoming, comfortable environment for patients, families and visitors. You will assist with medication management, patient monitoring, administrative tasks and more. All your work helps ensure the best possible health outcomes. A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00AM - 5:00PM. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Assist with performing screening and treatments by gathering information related to health maintenance, collecting specimens and documenting patient care. Update health maintenance at patient visits, accurately identifies medication changes and updates allergy information at each visit. Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition. Administers specific medications under direction of provider. Maintain equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning and troubleshooting. Maintain examination areas. Assist in pre-visit planning by updating the health maintenance tab. Perform administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry and patient registration. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Must be a graduate from an accredited Medical Assisting Program Military training as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered Current demonstrated clinical proficiency Completion of a clinical externship. (Extensive clinical experience may be considered in lieu of formal clinical externship) Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) required within new hire period Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: CMA, NCMA, CCMA certification Successful completion of CC Externship One year of experience in patient care Medical background OR enrollment in school for a medical career EPIC experience Physical Requirements: Manual dexterity to operate office equipment. May require extended periods of standing, walking or sitting. Good visual acuity through normal or corrected vision. Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly. Personal Protective Equipment: Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
