The Fairfield County Commissioners' Office is seeking a full-time

Records Center Clerk

in Lancaster. This position requires strong problem solving and organizational skills and attention to detail. The mission of Fairfield County is to ensure high quality services at an exceptional value to taxpayers. Successful candidates will further the mission of the Fairfield Commissioners' Office and provide exemplary service to external and internal customers. The successful candidate must also follow county policies and always exhibit a professional demeanor.

Duties

Serve as the primary contact who will work with necessary staff to fulfill public records requests Answer the phones and assist customers coming into the office Will coordinate the movement of records between existing office locations and the Records Center Perform routine cleaning and rehousing procedures, and re-boxing and verification of documents/boxes Will sort, separate, and arrange records for long-term or permanent storage Assist staff with transporting records and boxes to and from various offices and other tasks as assigned Maintain inventory logs in Excel Assist with conference-training room scheduling and meeting set-up Assist with the scanning of records Will order record keeping supplies Attends and assists with Records Commission meetings Qualifications

Candidates for this position must possess a high school diploma or equivalent Experience in handling records and government documents is preferred An undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or Accounting is preferred but not required

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stand, walk and sit. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms, and climb. The employee may often lift and/or move 50+ pounds and may be required to use the mobile power lift.
