Alpine Academy
Alpine Academy is a special populations school for children with autism located in Aberdeen, South Dakota. We are looking for a passionate special educator who wants to make a difference in the lives of students.
Position Type : Full Time, Exempt (Salaried)
Hours : 8:00-4:00; Monday- Friday, excludes Holidays
Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to)
Collaborates with the Clinical Supervisor and classroom Teacher as well as district staff to develop functional and applicable IEPs for each student within the Infinite Campus Platform.
Regularly reviews IEP progress data with the Clinical Supervisor and the classroom Teacher every two weeks and conducts quarterly assurance checks.
Facilitates and schedules IEP meetings with placing school districts to remain in compliance with Federal Annual and Triennial guidelines.
In collaboration with the Clinical Supervisor, oversees the collection of data for IEP goals and objectives and writes quarterly progress reports within required deadlines.
Conduct skills-based and academic assessments as required by triennial evaluations.
Research and provide curricula and training for the classroom teachers and instructors.
Ensures implementation of high-quality academic instruction at each student's developmental, instructional level for each student. Co-teach and/or assist in classrooms as necessary.
Assists Clinical Supervisor, School Director, and instructional staff in supporting students in crisis.
Assists Teachers in maintaining a positive learning environment and responding to the individual needs of students.
Facilitates and organizes all required State Testing for on-site students. Ensures district case manager completes State Testing for off-site students.
Maintain knowledge regarding updated CT Department of Education rules and regulations.
Completes additional duties as assigned
Requirements
Qualifications, Experience, Skills, and Abilities Required
Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Special Education
Holds or is eligible for Special Education Certification from the South Dakota DOE
Experience with children with autism required
Two years of special education teaching experience preferred
Valid Driver's License
Ability to pass a criminal background check according to standard policy
Proficiency with technology
Authorized to work in the United States of America

$65,000 yearly for full time
