Ocean Dental Group is hiring: Dental Assistant in Fresno

Overview

The Dental Assistant (DA) provides essential support in delivering quality dental care at Ocean Dental Group. This role includes patient care and assisting with various dental procedures. Reports to: Dentist, Floor Supervisor, and Office Manager.

Responsibilities

• Patient Care: Prepare patients for dental procedures and ensure their comfort; educate patients on oral health practices to help them maintain good dental hygiene.
• Dental Procedures: Assist the dentist during procedures such as fillings, extractions, and Root Canal Therapy; handle instruments, provide suctioning, and ensure patients are positioned correctly during treatments; take diagnostic X-rays.
• Instrument Preparation: Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment to ensure a safe working environment.
• Administrative Tasks: Schedule appointments and maintain accurate patient records; provide post-operative instructions to patients to ensure proper recovery.

Qualifications

• Radiation Safety Certification
• 8 hours Infection Control Certification
• Current CPR certification (BLS or ACLS)
• Previous experience in a dental setting preferred
• Knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and terminology
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
