Wound Care Advanced Practice Provider (APP)
Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant) to join our Wound Care outpatient clinic. The APP will provide comprehensive evaluation, treatment, and management of patients with acute and chronic wounds. This role involves collaboration with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality and evidence-based wound care. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive wound assessments, including evaluation of wound type, size, stage, and condition. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on current wound care guidelines and best practices. Perform wound care procedures such as debridement (sharp, enzymatic, autolytic), dressing changes, negative pressure wound therapy, and application of advanced wound care products. Support ostomy clinic staff by certified ostomy RNs. Monitor wound healing progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary. Educate patients and caregivers on wound prevention, dressing changes, and overall skin integrity management. Document assessments, interventions, outcomes, and progress notes in the electronic medical record system. Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, nursing staff, physical therapists, and other team members to coordinate comprehensive wound, ostomy, and hyperbaric. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and wound care program development. Maintain knowledge of current wound care trends, technologies, and protocols. Must be able to attend HBO provider meetings, attend to those patients, etc. Minimum Requirements Current and unrestricted PA license in Virginia Certification as a Physician Assistant (NCCPA) Valid DEA license (or eligibility to obtain) Strong clinical skills in wound care management Training and familiarity in the use of EPIC (EMR) preferred We look forward to hearing from qualified candidates interested in joining us in a highly collegial environment where the patient is at the center of what we do.
