Accounting Position
Performs routine accounting activities such as maintenance of the general ledger, preparation of various accounting statements and financial reports and fixed asset functions.
Key Duties And Responsibilities:
- Prepares, processes, and codes invoices, ensuring payment within terms
- Compiles and maintains accurate financial information to prepare entries to accounts
- Prepares and reviews reports and data, monitoring for accuracy and completeness
- Assists with month-end closing transactions including preparation of key reports
- Provides requested financial information to key stakeholders
- Reconciles accounts, ledgers, and reports
- Supports continuous improvement initiatives for accounting process and information flow
- Maintains and reviews records and data to ensure compliance with all corporate policies and all GAAP, local, state, and Federal law
Essential To This Position:
- Fixed asset additions, disposals, and transfers
- Month end fixed asset reconciliation by plant
- Fixed asset e-mail box creating internal orders and LVA's upon request
- Manage and reconcile Capital projects working directly with plant project managers for Corporate and MPC
- Review of the Asset P.O Switchboard to ensure all purchase orders are complete
- Responsible for the month end close processes for Menasha Corporation and MPC including performing journal entries, recurring entries, reconciliation of accounts and balance sheet review books as it relates to fixed assets
- Understand fixed assets book and tax requirements for Menasha's US and foreign locations.
- Perform review of fixed asset transactions across the company for adherence to Menasha Corporation fixed asset policies.
- Aid with testing relating to system issues, upgrades, loading or conversions
- Review of fixed assets to ensure correct Governmental tax depreciation keys and lives are assigned
- Assist with required changes to assets directed by the tax department to take advantage of various governmental initiatives
- Provide requested fixed asset reports and information to the tax department for income tax purposes
- Prepares and reviews reports and data, monitoring for accuracy and completeness.
- Reconciliation of fixed assets for each SAP go-live
- Assist with fixed asset divestiture and acquisition activities to create a smooth transition to/from Menasha Corporation
Education / Certifications:
Education Required:
Bachelor's Degree
Work Experience Required:
At least 4 years relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills, Or Abilities Desired:
- Knowledge of accounting principals
- Ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from numerical material
- Knowledge of methods, processes, and tools for preparation of financial statements and reports
- Knowledge of financial and accounting applications specific to the organization
- Ability to identify, evaluate, and research problems related to the accounting function
Additional Job Requirements:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- SAP knowledge preferred
