Corporate Sr Accountant

Seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Corporate Sr Accountant to strengthen our Finance & Accounting team. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise and play a key role in maintaining financial integrity, driving operational transparency, and supporting compliance across the organization. This position supports strategic decision-making through detailed analysis, manages compliance with regulatory standards, and mentor junior staff to uphold operational excellence across the finance function. Success in this role requires advanced proficiency in Microsoft Officeespecially Exceland hands-on experience with enterprise-level ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or QAD.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals

Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP

Deliver variance analysis and executive-level commentary on financial performance

Ensure compliance with SOX and internal control frameworks

Support external audits and prepare required documentation

Partner with cost center managers to improve financial transparency and reporting accuracy

Contribute to ERP system optimization and data integrity

Mentor junior staff and promote team autonomy in financial transaction recording

Assist in refining SOPs and internal policies for invoice error correction and compliance

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance (CPA preferred)

Minimum 3-5 years of corporate accounting experience

Strong understanding of GAAP, SOX, and financial controls

Advanced Excel skills and ERP system proficiency (QAD a plus)

Excellent communication and analytical skills

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Accounting required, CPA or MBA a plus - strong accounting fundamentals knowledge
  • 5 yoe in strong GL accounting, GL coding, month-end
  • Strong debits and credits understanding on how to record
  • ERP - QAD, SAP, Oracle similar cloud-based system- very strong in the GL module
  • Excel - strong with formulas, sumifs, pivots, vlookups, understanding how to manipulate data
  • Very strong month-end experience (10 days is their new goal)
  • Strong analysis around month-end reporting for different cost centers/departments on their budget vs. actual, variance analysis
  • Accrual accounting, understanding how to record the revenue and differed revenue
  • Understanding GAAP and internal controls, knowing what SOX is is a plus
  • Knowledge of financial statements including P&L, balance sheet, income statement and how it all ties together
  • Start-up experience a plus - living in the gray as SOPs and processes aren't totally built up yet

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $52.00/hr.
