Business Intelligence Analyst (Remote) – Providence

The Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for designing, creating, and managing BI and analytics solutions that turn data into knowledge. This role uses insights from the Patient Engagement Center's data to propose workflow changes and opportunities for optimization, serves as a key point of contact for IS/IT Partners, and contributes to Patient Engagement Center project tracking and coordination. A background in data analysis and strong business acumen are required. The BI Analyst should be analytical and an excellent communicator, and will enhance Providence’s business intelligence capabilities to support informed decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Load, translate, and merge data from multiple sources to prepare datasets for analysis and present accurate data to guide decision making.
  • Prepare documentation of analytic steps to support replication and transparency.
  • Prioritize multiple high-priority projects to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain attention to detail in technical programming and statistical analysis; spot errors and discrepancies in reports.
  • Balance scientific rigor with concise, timely analysis and reporting.
  • Align and present data trends to identify opportunities for workflow optimization.
  • Assist in tracking Patient Engagement Center project progression and act as a point of contact for key stakeholders as needed.

Essential Functions

  • Translate business needs into technical specifications.
  • Design, build, and deploy BI solutions; maintain analytic platforms.
  • Create tools to store and access data; develop and run database queries and analyses.
  • Develop visualizations and reports; create and update technical documentation.
  • Present data trends and observations with proposals for workflow optimizations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in quantitative fields (Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, or related).
  • 1 year of experience in an analytic or technical role working with multiple data systems.
  • Experience with database management, statistical data representation, and productivity software.
  • 1 year of SQL programming experience.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, SSRS, etc.).
  • Background in data warehouse design (e.g., dimensional modeling) and data mining.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Insurance industry experience.
