Key Responsibilities
- Provide mental health care and respond to mental health crises throughout the facility.
- Assess and evaluate inmates' mental health in various settings.
- Identify mental health issues and collaborate with physicians to prescribe appropriate treatment.
- Implement therapeutic regimens approved by psychiatrists for patient care.
- Educate inmates, healthcare staff, and correctional personnel on mental health management and support.
- Maintain thorough documentation of all mental health interactions and treatments.
- Follow safety and security policies, participate in disaster drills, and adhere to security protocols related to keys, sharps, and controlled substances.
- Supervise infection control practices and ensure adherence to Universal Precautions and other infection control standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Key Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited college/university Nurse Practitioner program with current state licensure and certification.
- Current CPR certification required.
- Available to participate in on-call scheduling as needed.
- Subject to initial and ongoing security clearance requirements.
- Background check, security clearance, and drug screening required for this role.
