We are seeking a Board Certified or Eligible Neurosurgeon to provide locum 24-hour call coverage at a high-acuity, Level II Trauma Center in the Midwest. This is a hospital-based position with dedicated APP and OR team support. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with trauma neurosurgery, including cranial and spinal procedures, and must be available for all scheduled blocks .
Schedule & Dates
Call: In-house 24-hour call (hospital-based, no outpatient duties)
Blocks: 7-day consecutive call coverage

Credentialing: Approx. 90 days
Compensation
$3,700/day for 24-hour call
$350/call-back
$350 orientation (if applicable)
All travel, lodging, and malpractice coverage included

Level II Trauma Center with 65,000 annual ED visits
Epic EMR
Team includes 4 Neurosurgeons
Dedicated Neuro-Ortho OR team + APPs for all cases
Procedures & Case Mix
Cranial: Tumor removal, hemorrhage evacuation, ICP monitoring
Trauma: TBI, burr holes, stereotactic radiosurgery
Spine: Discectomy, laminectomy, fusions, stabilization
CSF management: Shunts, lumbar punctures, drain placement
Ventriculostomy, EVD, ICP/CPP interpretation and management
Candidate Requirements
Board Certified or Eligible (ABNS)
Active Iowa license or IMLC with LOQ (required at submission)
BLS, ACLS, ATLS, PALS, NALS
Strong experience in adult trauma neurosurgery & spinal instrumentation
Must be available for all listed coverage dates
