Job Description

The Infusion Center Coordinator organizes and maintains the daily schedule to meet the needs of patients and physicians of the medical staff at facilities in the Baptist Health Care organization as well as externally. This position is available as a resource and communicator for physicians, patients, department, and hospital personnel, visitors, etc., regarding the overall daily operations of the department. This position maintains all medical records and files. This position works with centralized scheduling to organize schedules and orders through Order Facilitator ensuring all appointments have orders and authorizations. This position obtains and inputs data required for outpatient appointments, ensures all patients are checked-in and cycle visits are correct with orders. This position is responsible for making check-out appointments when the patient has an order.

Responsibilities

Greets all customers; courteously answers the phone with a greeting, the name of the department, identification and demonstrates and attitude of helpfulness. Transfers calls when appropriate, and takes accurate messages. Arrive patients as needed to tracking board. Ensure correct visit and armband for treatment. Ensures all patient appointments have an attached order and authorization Performs a variety of administrative functions. Initiates and maintains department files of case records, correspondence, reports and resources. Anticipates equipment and supply needs. Contacts appropriate people for repair of equipment and machines. Monitors waiting room and cleans/organizes when necessary. Qualifications

Minimum Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent Required Minimum Work Experience

1-3 years Experience in Healthcare Required Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Ability to perform general office procedures and practices, including daily computer operations and relevant equipment functions. Knowledge of medical terminology; records management; and basic computer skills. Ability to deal appropriately with confidential information. Able to function effectively with frequent interruptions and multi task daily. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
