Entry-Level Accountant

Fully Onsite - Houston, TX

2-3 Month Contract to Hire (W2, Weekly Pay, Benefits)

About the Role:

Entry-Level Accountant for multiple teams across the organization. This is a fantastic opportunity for recent graduates looking to start their accounting careers in a dynamic, global energy company. Successful candidates will start on a contract basis with the goal of converting to full-time employment within 60–90 days, based on performance and business need.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support daily accounting operations including journal entries, reconciliations, and transactional processing
• Assist in month-end and quarter-end close processes – must be available for extended hours during this time
• Contribute to internal and external reporting requirements, including S4 support where applicable
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and company policies
• Work collaboratively across accounting teams and with supervisors to meet deadlines

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required (Accounting strongly preferred)
• CPA eligible preferred, not required (e.g., 150 credit hours, 5th year, or MBA candidates)
• Strong academic record (GPA 3.5+ preferred, but not required if offset by strong interview or experience)
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and organizational abilities
• Proficiency in Excel and basic financial systems; knowledge of SAP/S4 is a plus

• This is a contract-to-hire opportunity, with an evaluation period of 60–90 days (subject to change)

• All roles are 100% on-site at Halliburton’s Northbelt Campus in Houston
