To minimize injury risk to clients, staff, and visitors by providing security, loss control, and protection at the Sequoyah Adolescent Treatment Center (SATC) in Albuquerque, NM.

How the job gets done

• Conduct searches of new admissions, clients, and visitors to prevent contraband from entering SATC.
• Ensure buildings are secured (windows closed, doors locked, lights off during non-working hours).
• Enforce SATC policies and procedures.
• Assist with maintaining resident-to-staff ratios; assist staff with CPI techniques for combative residents.
• Follow walk-away policies and coordinate searches with staff and law enforcement.
• Conduct room searches per schedule and upon request.
• Monitor traffic flow and parking; follow traffic control policy.
• Check fire extinguishers monthly and report deficiencies; log on Fire Extinguisher Check List.
• Respond to fire alarms and report deficiencies.
• Complete reports documenting observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities.

Secure facility serving adolescent males, ages 13-17, with a history of violence and aggression.

Ideal Candidate

Experience in:

• Residential treatment facilities
• Therapeutic milieu and recovery-oriented/trauma-informed care environments
• Security duties including fire alarm systems and extinguisher checks
• Prior security guard experience

Minimum Qualifications

Eighth grade education.

Employment Requirements

• Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
• Pre-employment background investigation required and conditional pending results.

Working Conditions

Work in indoor and outdoor settings with exposure to potential hazards (trespassers, vandals, unruly clients). May require extended periods of walking and standing.
