Base pay range
$150,000.00/yr - $170,000.00/yr
Title: Human Resource Officer
Hours: 8-5 pm
Location: Des Plaines, IL - Onsite

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in the banking or financial services industry.
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
Responsibilities
- Build and lead the HR function from the ground up, designing scalable strategies that align with the organization's mission and future growth.
- Partner closely with senior leadership to translate organizational goals into foundational HR practices and initiatives.
- Develop and implement end-to-end recruitment strategies to attract a diverse and highly qualified workforce, establishing the organization’s talent acquisition framework.
- Design and execute the full-cycle hiring process—including job descriptions, interview protocols, and onboarding workflows—from scratch.
- Serve as the first dedicated HR resource and trusted advisor for employee relations, creating a positive, inclusive, and values-driven culture.
- Establish employee engagement and retention programs that support a thriving workplace from day one.
- Create and manage the organization’s first compensation and benefits infrastructure, ensuring competitiveness and compliance.
- Lead the development of HR policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with all relevant federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Conduct regular reviews and audits to ensure compliance and continual improvement of HR practices.
- Identify key learning and development needs, launching programs that build skills, support career growth, and promote continuous learning.
- Implement systems and processes for maintaining accurate, secure, and up-to-date employee records and HR documentation.
