Overview

The HR Generalist will assist in the implementation and maintenance of HR practices and programs in support of SO business objectives. Primary areas of responsibility include support in employee relations, talent development, talent acquisition and workforce planning, compensation, performance management, change management and positive cultural preservation.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a central point of communication within assigned business and functional areas.
  • Implement end-to-end recruitment process, including profile alignment, job posting, applicant tracking, and coordinating interview schedules.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers and third-party recruiters; participate in job fairs when available.
  • Screen resumes and conduct phone screenings; coordinate candidate travel if needed.
  • Assist in making hiring and pay decisions with the hiring manager; prepare employment offers.
  • Collect pre-employment documentation and conduct welcome/orientation meetings.
  • Oversee onboarding, including background checks, new hire bundles, orientation scheduling, and cross-department coordination.
  • Oversee the termination process, ensure completion of all items, and communicate with relevant internal parties.
  • Organize training sessions as needed.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for Benefits Annual Enrollment and may conduct annual presentations.
  • Provide backup support for Time and Admin functions.
  • Process additional payments (e.g., sales commissions, bonuses) and assist with compensation and benefits data and analyses.
  • Prepare and collate reports; support HRBP with HR KPI analyses and reporting on hiring, sickness, attrition, diversity, etc.
  • Support associate engagement activities and local site events.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Knowledge of human resources management practices and US labor/employment law.
  • Ability to interpret and apply applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, policies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with sound judgment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with financial and business acumen.
  • High integrity and confidentiality; excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong time management and the ability to meet deadlines; self-starter with adaptability and composure under pressure.
  • Strong analytical abilities and aptitude for working with complex data; patient and professional demeanor.
  • Preferred:
  • Knowledge of SAP or other HR systems; experience with PI/DISC/Korn Ferry 360° tools is helpful.
  • Experience in a global environment.
