Fort Smith Smiles, a Heartland Dental Supported Practice and a "Growing Patient-Focused Doctor Office" is looking for a Full-Time Dental Assistant to join our team.

Full-Time Dental Assistant with No Nights or Weekends, Full Benefits Package, Quarterly Bonus Potential, Dental Assistant Academy Training & CE Classes Included.

Expected Full-Time Work Hours: Monday-Thursday 7:45am–5:00pm; Friday 7:45am–2:00pm (Hours Subject to Change).

Location: 2909 South 74th Street, Fort Smith, AR 72903.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey, provide education and sustain patient comfort throughout treatment
  • Review patient health history to deliver quality care
  • Take and process X-rays and other diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography, etc.)
  • Provide chairside assistance (four-handed dentistry) to supported dentists
  • Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping
  • Prepare treatment rooms with adherence to safety protocols, OSHA, and CDC guidelines
  • Manage supplies and inventory; place and expedite orders as needed
  • Collaborate with providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize office workflow

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • State Dental Assistant Credentials
  • State X-Ray Certification
  • Ability to access minimum PHI; HIPAA training required; protect PHI and maintain data safeguards
  • Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
  • Experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric, high-volume environment
  • Adaptable to a changing work environment
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
  • Attention to detail; ability to meet deadlines; sense of urgency
  • Microsoft Office Suite experience

Preferred Experience

  • Dentrix or other dental software experience

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and standing
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds
  • Availability to attend virtual or in-person training periodically

TB Testing

As part of our commitment to safety, a tuberculosis (TB) test is required for all new hires in dental office positions. The test will be arranged during the pre-employment process and guidance provided. Not applicable in the state of FL & TN.
