Overview Assistant Director, Financial Analysis and Operations - Georgetown University Law Center

Base pay range: $66,783.00/yr - $126,720.23/yr

Responsibilities

Produce regular reports on operating results and provide guidance to Law Center leadership on proper financial tracking.

Perform complex financial analyses on various components of the Law Center operating, endowment, special funds, and capital budgets to support the Law Center Deputy CFO, the CFO, and other senior leaders.

Assist with the processing of financial transactions through the University Financial Systems and be knowledgeable of all established financial policies and procedures for the Law Center and the University.

Perform other responsibilities as directed by the Deputy CFO, including but not limited to, Conflict of Interest and IRB Reviews, GMS/Adaptive Role Requests, GU-Pass, and GMS Delegations.

Work Interactions The Assistant Director reports to the Deputy CFO and will interact with faculty, staff, students, and financial and budget officers across the University. The role may involve participation in meetings with senior Law Center leadership and collaboration with individuals from other campuses and University Services.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is required; a master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration, Data Analytics is preferred.

7+ years of professional experience in performing complex financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.

Knowledge of fund accounting and budgeting principles and practices.

Strong working knowledge of MS Excel (pivot tables), Word, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a higher educational institution is strongly preferred.

Experience with Adaptive Insights and Workday is strongly preferred.

CPA certification is preferred; demonstrated accounting background can substitute for CPA.

Knowledge of database management is preferred but not required.

Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills are strongly preferred.

Ability to prioritize competing projects and work under pressure to meet deadlines is highly desirable.

Salary and Benefits The projected salary range for this position is $66,783.00 - $126,720.23. Compensation is determined by factors including qualifications, experience, education, skills, certifications, and the University’s business needs.
