Overview

Microsoft Windows Desktop Support Engineer (Network Engineer) role at City of San Jos. The Department of Public Works is seeking an individual whose values align with Integrity, Innovation, Excellence, Collaboration, Respect and Celebration. This 100% on-site position is in the Technology Services Division, is full-time, and runs MondayFriday 8am5pm. Position Duties

Provide day-to-day desktop support, user support, patch management, system administration and maintenance. The environment includes over 700 Windows devices, approximately 50 servers, and 500+ iOS mobile devices across multiple network segments. Ideal Experience / Qualifications

Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM) Windows 11 OS deployment Windows Server 2019 or newer / Virtual Machines Active Directory (AD) / Group Policies (GPO) Autopilot / Intune / Azure PowerShell scripting Mobile Device Management (MDM) Basic SQL Knowledge Cyber Security Remediation Techniques Minimum Qualifications Education: A bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS, or a closely related field. Experience: Three (3) years of experience performing technical work of complex difficulty to provide desktop support, data security, system administration, server administration, or network support to end users. Acceptable Substitution: Two (2) years of related experience may be substituted for up to two years of the education requirement. Licenses or Certificates: Possession of a valid California Drivers License. Possess an industry certification that demonstrates expertise in IT, such as Microsoft certs (e.g., MCSA, Security Operations Analyst, Endpoint Administrator), AWS Certification, or equivalent. Desirable Certifications: Azure Administrator Associate Certification. If not currently held, candidates must obtain an industry certification within six (6) months of hire. Other Qualifications
