The Senior Software Engineer performs software development work on applications primarily using Java/JEE, EJB, JPA and JSF, frontend and backend solutions, OO-Design, JAVA architectures and Oracle database programming knowledge (SQL). Software Engineers work in small teams (3-5) on projects which may run from 16 months. Engineers are expected to be self-starters who can learn independently and help train other team members in their areas of expertise. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications that support cutting-edge automation systems and will thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Responsibilities
Undertake the delivery of a defined part of a project, including design, implementation, testing, integration (in-house and on-site) and documentation Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, and deployment Identify and resolve technical issues, ensuring robustness and reliability of applications Develop and test software in accordance with design requirements Guarantee compliance with QA rules and guidelines Contribute to the definition of project designs and the project development process, as requested Adhere to design strategies and development methodologies defined by the Software Development Manager and company quality procedures Create and maintain detailed design documentation, user guides, and technical specifications Provide after-hours support on a rotating basis to address customer issues reported outside normal business hours Fully document all requirements definition, design, implementation and testing to the required standards Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve software performance and scalability Application Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field Minimum of 3 years of experience in Java development, preferably in automation or robotics Proficiency in Java, Java EE, EJB, JPA, JSF (frontend and backend), OO-Design, JAVA architectures; SQL, JavaScript, HTML and CSS are a plus Understanding of real-time programming, relational database concepts and architecture Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a team-oriented mindset Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git), agile methodologies, and software development tools Desirable
