Job Summary
The General Manager for the Americas region will serve as the P&L leader. This executive role is responsible for driving regional market development, sales growth, and strategic execution aligned with global objectives. The GM will oversee all commercial operations, customer relationships, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure profitability, market share expansion, and operational excellence.
Job Description SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, lead and execute regional business strategies to drive sustainable growth and market expansion
Own full P&L responsibility for the Americas, delivering revenue, margin, and profitability targets
Develop and manage annual budgets in alignment with Nidec's financial and operational standards
Drive accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts in coordination with global financial planning
Adapt global strategies to local market dynamics and customer needs to identify and capture new business opportunities
Define and implement effective sales and go-to-market strategies aligned with long-term growth objectives
Optimize cost structures and pricing strategies to enhance competitiveness and profitability
Analyze market trends and competitive landscape; collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen product and service offerings
Build and maintain strategic relationships with key customers and suppliers to support long-term growth
Ensure excellence in project execution, service delivery, and customer engagement across the region
Lead, develop, and retain a high-performing, cross-functional team across sales, marketing, engineering, and support functions ensuring alignment with overall business objectives
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures and regulatory requirements at all regional locations
Additional Job Details REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Business Administration, Management, or Engineering or equivalent as required. An electric motor or electronics major is preferred, and an MBA is a plus
15+ years of experience in industrial products/solutions to clients in the Americas, including at least 3 years in a P&L leader role
Proven experience managing a full P&L in a regional or business unit leadership role
Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and customer-centric mindset.
Strong presentation and customer interface capabilities
Skilled negotiator and trusted advisor in customer engagements
Experience managing cross-functional and multicultural teams
Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to allocate resources effectively
Effective leadership skills, including team building, coaching, and motivation
Travel up to 50% required.
Languages
English mandatory. Other language skills are helpful.
