This is for a national design-build general contractor that’s expanding its footprint in Atlanta. It would be a chance to be part of building something from the ground up. Our client is established nationally, with a strong portfolio in manufacturing, pharma, higher education, and life sciences, with an average project size of $50M+. We are seeking an experienced Project Director (or a Senior PM/PX ready to level up) who is: • Client-facing with strong relationships in the Atlanta market • Proven in leading ground-up projects • Experienced in team leadership and operations (would have direct people management oversight) • Hungry to grow a region and shape a culture We are seeking an experienced
Project Director
to provide executive-level leadership on complex construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. The Project Director will oversee multiple project teams, manage client relationships, and ensure delivery of safe, high-quality, on-time, and on-budget results. This role requires a proven leader with a track record of success on large-scale, ground-up projects and the ability to drive strategic execution while mentoring the next generation of construction leaders. Key Responsibilities
Provide overall leadership and direction for large, complex projects or multiple concurrent projects. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong long-term relationships. Lead project teams, including project managers, superintendents, engineers, and support staff, fostering collaboration and accountability. Oversee preconstruction activities including estimating, scheduling, constructability reviews, and subcontractor selection. Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality control, and contract requirements. Monitor project financials, budgets, and schedules to achieve or exceed performance targets. Resolve escalated project issues, risks, or disputes in a timely and effective manner. Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and efficiency in project delivery methods. Mentor, develop, and evaluate project management staff. Represent the company in business development efforts, proposal presentations, and industry events. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (Master’s preferred). 15+ years of progressive experience in commercial or industrial construction, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Proven success managing projects $50M+ from ground-up through delivery. Strong financial management skills with experience in cost control, forecasting, and reporting. Excellent communication, negotiation, and client relationship skills. Deep knowledge of construction methods, building codes, safety regulations, and contract law. Ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams in high-pressure environments. Preferred Experience
Experience in complex, large value ground-up commercial or light industrial construction. LEED accreditation or strong knowledge of sustainable construction practices. Familiarity with project management software (Procore, CMiC, Primavera, or similar). Why Join Us
