Risk & Compliance Officer | North America (US, Mexico) Location : North America (US time zone required; Mexico candidates can also apply) Industry : Systematic Commodities Hedge Fund Experience : 5+ years Employment Terms : Full-time, Hybrid This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing, dynamic commodities hedge fund as a Risk & Compliance Officer. You\'ll have a broad, hands-on role focusing primarily on risk oversight, with compliance responsibilities tailored to support a lean but expanding team. This position offers a clear path to senior risk leadership roles, including Chief Risk or Compliance Officer, as the fund scales its assets and strategy complexity. Role
Partner with the CIO and Investment Committee to design, deploy, and monitor a comprehensive risk framework covering portfolio exposures, liquidity, leverage, concentration limits, stress testing, and adherence to risk limits. Provide independent risk oversight and reporting to stakeholders. Support fund administration with reconciliations, investigations, and monitoring initiatives. Continuously enhance risk controls to match fund growth and complexity. Compliance
Implement and maintain compliance policies in line with US regulators and global frameworks. Oversee all registration, reporting, and regulatory filings. Manage pre- and post-trade compliance using institutional platforms. Coordinate with fund administrators, prime brokers, and legal counsel. Lead e-communication compliance and nurture firm-wide compliance culture through education and monitoring. Requirements
5+ years in hedge fund, asset management, or regulatory risk/compliance roles. Familiarity with US regulatory filings (CPO/CTA registration, Form PF, NFA, AML/KYC). Strong understanding of institutional trading and compliance platforms. Practical knowledge of risk management methodologies including VaR, stress testing, liquidity, and leverage. Comfortable in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment applying institutional standards. Strong communication skills, adept at dealing with regulators and internal teams. Nice-to-Haves
Experience with commodities or derivatives trading environments. Exposure to Cayman fund structures and offshore compliance. Regulatory audit and inspection experience Nice-to-Haves (continued)
