We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented

Facilities Equipment Engineer

to support the performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of facilities infrastructure and equipment within our manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for developing and managing maintenance strategies, auditing system records, and providing technical leadership in specifying, upgrading, and optimizing critical building and utility systems. Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Strategy & Oversight

Develop, update, and manage preventative and predictive maintenance schedules for facility and utility equipment (e.g., HVAC, boilers, compressors, electrical systems). Audit maintenance records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to internal standards and safety requirements. Recommend and implement new or revised maintenance tasks based on equipment performance data, failure trends, and industry best practices. Collaborate with maintenance technicians and supervisors to optimize reliability, reduce downtime, and improve asset lifecycle performance.

Facilities Systems & Infrastructure Support

Create detailed specifications and requirements for new or upgraded facility infrastructure, including electrical distribution, chilled water systems, compressed air, and process utilities. Develop functional specifications for Building Management Systems (BMS) to support operational visibility, automation, and energy efficiency. Assist with the design, installation, and commissioning of new equipment and facility modifications.

Documentation & Compliance

Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation including system schematics, maintenance logs, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and equipment specifications. Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, internal policies, and safety standards (e.g., OSHA, NFPA, ISO 9001). Participate in internal audits and support external inspections related to facility infrastructure and maintenance practices.

Cross-Functional Coordination & Project Support

Collaborate with production, quality, safety, and other departments to ensure facility systems align with manufacturing needs. Support capital improvement projects including scope development, cost estimation, contractor coordination, and execution oversight. Identify opportunities for energy conservation, process efficiency, and infrastructure modernization.

Qualifications

Master's degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, environmental health and safety) AND 1+ years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety, facilities development, or security management; participating in multidisciplinary projects where scope requires reliance on the technical experience of other team members OR Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, environmental health and safety) AND 3+ years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety, facilities development, or security management; participating in multidisciplinary projects where scope requires reliance on the technical experience of other team members OR Associate's degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, environmental health and safety) AND 4+ years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety, facilities development, or security management; participating in multidisciplinary projects where scope requires reliance on the technical experience of other team members OR equivalent experience Strong knowledge of building and utility systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, compressed air, and automation/control systems. Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), Microsoft Office, and AutoCAD or similar tools. Solid understanding of maintenance best practices, equipment reliability, and plant operations. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications

Workplace safety training programs. Experience with lean manufacturing, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), or reliability-centered maintenance approaches. Working knowledge of BMS, SCADA, or other industrial monitoring and control systems. Familiarity with root cause analysis methods (e.g., 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams) and continuous improvement methodologies. Working Conditions

Workplace safety is a key value in Lyten’s culture. Thorough safety assessments are prerequisite for any interfacing with industrial equipment. Primarily onsite in a manufacturing facility environment. Occasional after-hours or weekend support may be required for planned shutdowns or system commissioning. Ability to navigate mechanical spaces and safely inspect equipment, including climbing ladders or accessing utility areas. Compensation

The base salary range for this position is approximately

$106,000.00 – $159,000.00 . The level of pay within the range will depend on factors including location, relevant experience, education, and skills. Disclosures & Equal Opportunity
