Coke Florida is searching for an In-House Attorney to work out of our Tampa HQ area office.

What you will do

Be a member of a dynamic, fun, supportive and talented in-house legal team with a wide range of experience and capabilities

Act as a trusted cross-functional partner who understands the business, provides practical solutions, and actively participates in achieving company’s objectives while ensuring legal compliance and risk mitigation

Draft, negotiate, interpret, and advise as to commercial contracts of all types, including customer and supplier contracts (e.g., commercial goods and services, professional services, consulting, technology, licensing, SaaS, and construction services agreements)

Roles and Responsibilities

Drafting, negotiating, interpreting, and advising as to commercial contracts of all types

Dispute management, including relating to contract relationships

Developing and improving templates, processes, and tools

Developing and conducting legal training to business associates on a variety of topics to educate teams on legal matters and foster a culture of risk awareness and ethical business practices

For This Role, You Will Need

Juris Doctor Degree

Admitted to the Florida bar and in good standing

Approximately 5+ years of experience in transactional legal matters

Ability to determine and understand the company’s priorities, strategies, objectives, cultural norms, and risk tolerance, and to incorporate the information in making business and legal recommendations and decisions

Ability to draft, negotiate and interpret contracts, including to synthesize business terms and legal protections into contracts

Knowledge of the proper content of contracts and ability to understand and evaluate provisions proposed by counterparties to determine which items are and are not acceptable to the company and ability to explain and discuss same with internal colleagues and determine course of action, and communicate same to counter parties

Ability to ensure business teams understand key business and legal implications of contracts during negotiations

Knowledge of negotiation strategies and tactics, including the ability to apply appropriate strategies during negotiations

Ability to understand the company's contractual relationships with customers, suppliers, and other parties, including knowledge of the implications that such relationships have on the company's strategic decision-making and freedom to act

Ability to devise legal solutions that mitigate liability, costs, and negative publicity to acceptable levels

Ability to gather and analyze research data, such as statutes, case law, relevant documents

Ability to conduct and analyze legal research to determine applicable legal principles, and apply such principles to the company’s business and matters

Ability to recognize and communicate material legal issues to internal stakeholders

Knowledge of and ability to analyze effect of company policies on business activities

Ability to anticipate and manage legal risks

Ability to supervise outside counsel hired to assist the company with specialized legal services

Ability to maintain professional demeanor and focus on objectives in confrontational negotiations

Ability to clearly and concisely articulate ideas, opinions, and information, in spoken and written form

Ability to work effectively and autonomously

Ability to adapt behavior in dealing with changing situations and people

Ability to adjust priorities in response to unanticipated events

Ability to pay close attention to detail

Ability to manage a variety of projects in an organized manner

Ability to work efficiently and quickly, while maintaining good work product

Ability to handle confidential and sensitive issues with maturity and professionalism

Excellent time management and organizational skills

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels
