Do you love music and want to share your gift with others? Are you seeking to make a difference in the lives of others? As a music companion volunteer you can enrich the lives of hospice patients in your community. In person visits would involve you sharing music with a patient, or multiple patients, at their residence. If you play an instrument or enjoy singing, you can bring joy into the lives of patients by sharing your talents. Hours are extremely flexible. Become a music companion to a patient when they really need it most! If you have a little extra time and are looking for something rewarding to do, look no further. When assigned to a patient, we will review the details of the patients life before we introduce you to them and you will meet with them on a regular basis. Do you want to make a big difference in someones day? As a volunteer for Care Partners you can make a profound difference in a familys life as a compassionate and calm presence who understands what they are going through. Our volunteers share our calling to bring comfort and help to others when they need it the most. Without the help of people like you we could not provide the level of service families in our community deserve. Our specially trained volunteers are crucial in the daily operation and success of our program both in the office and supporting patients wherever they call home. Volunteers may keep a patient company for an afternoon, take them on an outing, help with projects around the house, give caregivers a break allowing them to run errands or get some rest or provide a specialized skill like giving a haircut or playing music. Whether you elect to visit patients, share a specific talent or assist office staff you will be playing a vital role in our organization. About Us At Care Partners we recognize that dying is not just a medical event but a personal one. We serve Multnomah, Washington, Clackamas counties as well as parts of Yamhill and Columbia counties. We have opportunities for placement with patients throughout the Portland metropolitan region. Our main offices are located in Hillsboro, OR. Volunteer Orientation Volunteer Orientation is offered three times per year.
