The Estimating Director (Electrical) is accountable to manage the estimating process for electrical scopes across market segments. This role ensures client satisfaction and the quality and competitiveness of estimates, supports business acquisition efforts, and engages in staff development. Responsibilities
Discharge all electrical estimating-related responsibilities and provide leadership for the estimating department for assigned pursuits. Lead win-strategy development for assigned pursuits. Apply experience with forming and operating within joint ventures. Engage in business acquisition efforts (e.g., client presentations). Participate in and support the project selection (go/no go) process. Provide leadership for Joint Venture pursuits and manage estimating/preconstruction for alternative delivery methods. Assist in professional development of departmental staff and stay active in relevant industry organizations. Maintain advanced knowledge of electrical construction elements and perform complex take-offs, final pricing, and buy-out activities. Cultivate and maintain extensive subcontractor/supplier/client/designer relationships. Understand craft labor collective bargaining contracts, labor agreements, insurance, bonding requirements, and safety policies as they relate to estimates. Research and interpret project pricing trends including escalation. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related technical field and ten (10) years of related experience. Minimum of one (1) year of field experience is strongly preferred. Ability to develop winning strategies, interpret complex engineering documents, perform conceptual and detailed estimates, and assist in staffing and schedule approaches. Familiarity with various delivery methods and preconstruction services is required. Experience with forming and operating within joint ventures preferred and knowledge of craft labor contracts and company insurance/bonding requirements. Growth Opportunities
