$81,993.60/yr - $136,656.00/yr Senior Mental Health and Wellness Specialist will design, implement and evaluate wellbeing programs and services in cooperation with existing programs and assets to benefit the employee population. Advise and educate management and HR staff about wellbeing related matters. Partner with Sr. HR Business Partners to address wellbeing related needs and issues. Collaborate with vendors to leverage existing programs and services and support the development of new initiatives. This role may also involve some travel to additional Children's National locations on a limited basis.
Minimum Education
Master's Degree In social work, public health, or a related field (Required)
Minimum Work Experience
2 years post graduate experience (Required)
Experience With Employee Wellbeing, Specifically In Healthcare (preferred)
Experience developing and implementing crisis response programs and services, including but not limited to peer support programs (preferred)
Required Skills/Knowledge
Eager to learn and develop competencies in delivering new innovative behavior change approaches
Comfort and demonstrated experience with technology tools used to create efficiencies in workflows and track progress
Passionate about mental health
Independent, open-minded, non-judgmental, compassionate, flexible, good humor
Excellent interpersonal skills (communication and listening)
Ability to assess organizational culture and contribute to design of wellbeing programs
Demonstrated experience managing programs their communications, roll out and maintenance to large employee populations
Required Licenses And Certifications
Independent Social Worker Must be licensed in the District of Columbia at minimum at the LICSW-level. Must be licensed in MD and/or VA if social work services will be provided in those jurisdictions as part of the job requirements, including telemedicine. (Preferred) CHES or MCHES Upon Hire (Preferred)

Behavioral Health
Lead the coordination of multiple programs and services related to supporting mental health in the workplace, including workplace training on identifying and supporting distress in self and peers, support after critical incidents, and ongoing proactive and reactive outreach and promotion of available resources Provide consultations to supervisors, managers, and Human Resources to identify employee needs and provide, propose, and/or develop proactive and responsive programs and services Coordinate and communicate effectively with Children’s National EAP vendor contacts Support critical incidents by coordinating a system level response Deliver trainings on topics related to emotional wellbeing and behavioral health Collaborate with Chaplains to support employee wellbeing Employ evidence-based outcome tracking Refer employee to relevant resources within the employer partner’s benefits ecosystem Adhere to standards of service operations, documentation, and privacy at all times Timely data reporting as requested Participate in quality assurance reviews to ensure quality care is provided Comply with relevant employer policies (such as safety and COVID protocols) Promote the onsite and EAP program through onsite meetings with managers, employees, employee resource groups, committees, etc.

Understand organizational culture to guide program design Contribute to overall strategy of wellbeing programs that result in positive mental health changes for employees Advocate for organizational changes that reduce stress, burnout and provide mental health support for employees Collaborate with leadership and/or project sponsors to develop project structure, goals, and guiding principles. Escalates issues impacting the project or program to HR Leadership and/or project sponsors, as appropriate. Communicates project status to sponsors and stakeholders effectively and on a regular basis. Serves as a primary point of contact for project sponsors and other key stakeholders regarding project and project status. Updates and maintains all project plan documents and status reporting. Collaborate with key stakeholders to draft manuscripts and conference proposals to disseminate lessons learned
